Marshmallow- Althaea officinalis


The flowers, root, and leaves of the marshmallow plant are edible. The medicinal properties of marshmallow root come from the mucilage, or sap-like substance, that the plant produces. When planted in full sun, 4-5′ spikes are covered with flowers from July to September and attract pollinators. Likes moist, slightly acidic soil. Perennial in zones 3-7. Available in 6 packs.
